2. Summary
- We do not use any advertising, tracking or marketing cookies and therefore do not show a consent banner.
- For visitor statistics we use Umami on our own server, without cookies and without storing IP addresses.
- Enquiries sent via the contact form are delivered to us via Amazon SES (EU region Ireland). To protect against spam, Cloudflare Turnstile is only loaded when you use the form.
- Fonts, images, scripts and datasheets are hosted on our own server; the website is hosted in Germany (Hetzner Online GmbH).
3. Hosting and server logs
Hosting
This website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. The servers are located in Germany. Hetzner processes the data on our behalf under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. More information: Hetzner privacy policy.
Server logs
When you access this website, your browser automatically transmits information that is stored in the server's log files:
- IP address of the requesting device
- date and time of access
- page or file accessed and amount of data transferred
- status of the request (e.g. successful or not found)
- referrer URL (the previously visited page), if transmitted
- browser type, browser version and operating system
This data is technically required to deliver the website, to ensure its stability and security and to detect attacks. It is not combined with other data sources or analysed for marketing purposes. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in the secure and error-free operation of the website. Log data is only stored for as long as necessary for these purposes and is then deleted.
Encryption
For security reasons, this website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by “https://” in your browser's address bar.
4. Cookies and stored settings
We do not set any analytics, marketing or other cookies that require consent. Our visitor statistics (Umami) also work without cookies. We do not embed third-party content such as Google services, social media plugins, embedded videos or maps. Fonts are loaded exclusively from our own server; no connection to Google or any other font provider is established.
Stored settings
If you switch the light or dark mode or the language of the website yourself, your browser stores this choice locally on your device (local storage) so that it is retained on later visits. Only the values “light”/“dark” (securus-theme) and “German”/“English” (securus-lang) are stored. This information remains on your device, is not transmitted to us and is not evaluated in relation to your person.
The information is only stored when you actively choose the respective setting and is strictly necessary for this function requested by you (Section 25(2) No. 2 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act, TDDDG). The setting remains until you change it again or delete the website data in your browser.
As part of a security check, Cloudflare Turnstile may process technically necessary information in the browser. This only happens when you use the contact form (see the section “Protection of the contact form”).
5. Visitor statistics
To understand how our website is used and to improve it, we use the open-source software Umami. We operate Umami ourselves on our server at Hetzner (see the section “Hosting”). The data is not transmitted to the maker of Umami or to any other third party.
Umami does not use cookies and does not permanently store any information on your device. When a page is accessed, the following data is processed: the page accessed and its title, the referring website (referrer) and campaign parameters in the address (e.g. utm_source), browser, operating system and device type, screen size, browser language and the country, region and city derived from the IP address. In addition, we count certain interactions: opening and submitting a contact form (without its content), clicks on the phone number and email address, opening datasheets and switching the language.
Your IP address is not stored. To group page views of the same visit, Umami creates an identifier in the form of a hash value from the IP address, the browser identifier and a random value that changes daily. This identifier does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about your person and does not allow you to be recognised beyond the respective day. No user profile is created. If the “Do Not Track” setting is enabled in your browser, no data is collected.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the statistical evaluation of the use of our website in order to improve our services and measure the success of our content. You can object to the processing at any time (Art. 21 GDPR), for example by sending us an informal message or by enabling “Do Not Track” in your browser. The statistical data is automatically deleted after 24 months at the latest.
6. Contact
Contact by email or phone
If you contact us by email or phone, we process your details (for example your name, contact details and the content of your enquiry) in order to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual measures, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries).
Contact form
If you send us an enquiry via the contact form, we process the details from the form (name, company, email address, optionally your phone number, your topic and your message) in order to handle the enquiry and answer follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data without your consent. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual measures, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
To send the enquiry to us as an email, we use Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon SES) in the EU region Ireland. The provider is Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, 38 Avenue John F. Kennedy, L-1855 Luxembourg. The contact details and message text you enter are processed for sending. A data processing agreement has been concluded with the provider.
Email service
For our email communication we use Microsoft 365 provided by Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland, as our processor. A transfer of data to the USA cannot be ruled out; Microsoft is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, on the basis of which the European Commission has determined an adequate level of data protection (Art. 45 GDPR).
Storage period
We store your enquiries until you ask us to delete them or the purpose of storage no longer applies, for example once your request has been fully dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations (in particular under commercial and tax law) apply.
7. Protection of the contact form
To protect our contact form against automated input and abuse, we use Cloudflare Turnstile. The provider is Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, California 94107, USA.
Turnstile is not loaded when you merely visit the website, but only when you interact with the contact form. Cloudflare processes technical signals such as IP address, browser and device information, user agent, TLS characteristics as well as the website visited and the public site key. Content that you enter in the form is not transmitted to Turnstile. We receive a short-lived verification token and the result of the security check from Cloudflare.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in protecting the contact form and our infrastructure against spam and abusive automated requests. Insofar as Turnstile stores or reads information on your device for this purpose, this is necessary for the secure contact function you have requested (Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG). We do not use Turnstile’s optional pre-clearance feature, which can set an additional cf_clearance cookie.
Cloudflare may also process data in the USA. For this purpose, Cloudflare describes safeguards under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Further information can be found in the Turnstile privacy addendum and in Cloudflare’s Data Processing Addendum. No other transfers to third countries take place through features of this website.
8. Datasheets and external links
The technical datasheets on our hardware pages are provided from our own server. For some devices we link to the manufacturers' websites (for example Dragino, Milesight or Advantech). You only leave our website when you click such a link; the respective provider is responsible for the data processing there.
9. SMS notifications of the SECURUS platform
Users of the SECURUS platform can choose to receive alarm notifications by SMS. This is optional and is activated by the user in their account settings; we record the time and source of this consent.
To send these messages, we process the mobile number stored in the user account and transmit it, together with the message text, to our messaging provider Twilio Ireland Limited, which acts as our processor. Messages to recipients in the EU are processed in Twilio's Irish region.
We do not sell, rent or share mobile numbers or SMS consent with third parties for marketing purposes. The numbers are used exclusively to deliver the alarm notifications requested by the user.
Message frequency varies and depends entirely on alarm events at the monitored sites; there are no scheduled or recurring messages. Message and data rates may apply.
Users can withdraw their consent at any time in their account settings; recipients in the United States can also reply STOP to any message. The withdrawal takes effect immediately. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

10. Applications
If you apply for a job with us, we process your application documents and contact details in order to carry out the application process (Section 26 BDSG, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). If no employment relationship is established, we delete your documents no later than six months after the end of the process, unless you have consented to longer storage or statutory obligations apply.
11. Your rights
Within the scope of the statutory provisions, you have the right at any time to:
- access the data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) and restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- withdraw consent with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR)
Right to object
Where we process data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you have the right to object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). We will then no longer process your data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
Right to lodge a complaint
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Independent Centre for Privacy Protection Schleswig-Holstein (Unabhängiges Landeszentrum für Datenschutz, ULD), Holstenstraße 98, 24103 Kiel, Germany.
