SECURUS/Hardware/Current sensor for energy monitoring

LoRaWAN current sensors for energy monitoring

Current transformers measure selected conductors to observe individual machines and systems. SECURUS shows current readings and calculated consumption and cost estimates. A qualified electrician selects and installs them in the distribution board.

Technical data according to the manufacturer's datasheet, battery life under the stated conditions. All devices shown transmit via LoRaWAN. In addition to these examples, we also use LoRaWAN devices from other manufacturers depending on requirements.

Select current transformers by conductor, phase and range

Transformer aperture, range and number of phases must suit the equipment. Plan appropriate measurement points for each phase of three-phase loads. Passing several conductors through one transformer does not automatically produce the consumption figure sought. Design depends on the installation and monitoring goal.

Sensor selection questions

Are calculated kWh certified meter readings?

No. Consumption calculated from current is an estimate for monitoring and does not replace an appropriate billing meter.
