Machine and equipment monitoring for industry

Pumps, motors, compressors and storage areas are not always connected to a central overview. SECURUS complements existing systems with suitable fault contacts and wireless sensors. Maintenance receives condition data and alerts to investigate unusual machine and auxiliary equipment behavior.

Where SECURUS helps in industry

Machines and auxiliary equipment: Fault contacts, temperature, pressure and vibration provide different information. Suitable signals and measurement points are selected for each system. Machine monitoring explains the options and typical procedures.

Storage and cold areas. Temperature and door sensors report when storage conditions change, including at night and on weekends.

Energy and base load. Current sensors show the consumption of individual equipment in kWh and costs as an indicative estimate, including outside operating hours. This helps you find savings potential.

A complement, not a control system

SECURUS records and reports conditions. Machine controls, safety circuits and control systems remain unchanged; connections to existing equipment are planned and installed by qualified personnel. Start with a specific question, such as a fault that is currently noticed too late.

Areas of application

Suitable applications across your operations

Machines and auxiliary units

Equipment monitoring via fault contacts or additional sensors such as vibration.

Pipes and water systems

Leak sensors at risk points, pressure monitoring on pipes and circuits.

Process water

Probes for pH, conductivity and other parameters, matched to the medium and measuring range.

Energy-intensive areas

Energy monitoring shows the base load and operating times of individual equipment.

In practice

From a measurement question to condition monitoring

Useful measurement is determined by the machine and process, not the largest number of available sensors.

Check existing signals first

Fault contacts and available interfaces can provide a starting point. Agree with maintenance which states are available and how they should be interpreted.

Compare readings with normal operation

Schedules, load and installation affect temperature and vibration. Establish a traceable baseline before transferring limits to other equipment.

Plan suitable radio coverage and power

Many LoRaWAN sensors run on batteries for several years. Model, interval and environment determine requirements. Metal and structures affect reception and are considered during planning.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions from industry

Can older equipment be retrofitted?

Usually yes, via existing fault contacts or additional sensors. We check this for each piece of equipment; age alone is not the deciding factor.

Does SECURUS replace our control system?

No. SECURUS complements it where information is currently missing, such as auxiliary systems and remote plant rooms.

How quickly does an alert arrive?

It depends on the sensor: changes of state such as a fault contact are usually sent straight away, readings at the configured interval. SECURUS then alerts by SMS and email according to your rules.

Is this a predictive maintenance system?

The solution described here captures selected conditions and deviations. It does not automatically predict every failure.
