SECURUS/Use Cases/Water quality and pH monitoring

Monitor water quality and pH digitally

Is pool pH changing or process water conductivity shifting? SECURUS uses suitable probes to monitor selected water parameters. Historical readings and alerts help operations teams spot deviations and arrange maintenance or checks.

How it works

From the reading to the right person.

01

Measure

Sensors record readings or events directly on site.

Swimming pool · pH 7.9
02

Transmit

Via LoRaWAN to a gateway within range, then through its internet connection to the platform.

03

Check

The platform checks every value against your thresholds, rules and time windows.

Above pH 7.6
04

Alert

The responsible person receives an SMS or email with location, time and trigger.

The right parameters

pH, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, redox potential or chlorine answer different questions; which ones make sense depends on the water and the process. Each parameter needs a suitable probe. A water quality sensor connects up to three probes to the platform.

Maintenance is part of it

Depending on the type, probes need cleaning, calibration and replacement; only well-maintained probes give reliable readings. SECURUS shows trends and reports deviations, but it does not dose chemicals and does not by itself confirm that water is safe. Required control measurements remain in place. For drinking water systems, there is temperature monitoring.

Connect existing water measurement equipment

Depending on their interfaces, installed instruments can provide readings through an IoT controller. We check the protocol, available readings and data format. Existing measurement and control systems can remain in place while SECURUS brings the agreed readings together across pools, tanks or sites.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about water quality monitoring

Is a pH sensor enough?

Not for an overall assessment. It measures one value; which other parameters are needed depends on the application.

Do the sensors need maintenance?

Yes. Cleaning, calibration and replacement depend on the probe and the conditions of use.

Can existing measuring devices be connected?

Often yes, with a supported protocol and a known data layout, for example Modbus RTU over RS485. An RS485 connection alone does not confirm compatibility. We check the specific instrument.

Does SECURUS automatically dose chemicals?

The solution described here monitors readings and reports deviations. Dosing is not part of this monitoring scope.
