SECURUS/Use Cases/Temperature monitoring

Temperature monitoring with alerts for rooms and equipment

Monitor temperatures across storage areas, server rooms and plant rooms. SECURUS displays readings over time and alerts you to deviations by SMS and email. See which monitoring point is affected and when the change began. Dedicated applications cover the measurement and alert requirements of heating systems and cold rooms.

How it works

From the reading to the right person.

01

Measure

Sensors record readings or events directly on site.

Server room B1 · 35 °C
02

Transmit

Via LoRaWAN to a gateway within range, then through its internet connection to the platform.

03

Check

The platform checks every value against your thresholds, rules and time windows.

Above 30 °C for 20 min
04

Alert

The responsible person receives an SMS or email with location, time and trigger.

Temperature monitoring for cold rooms and freezers

Suitable measurement points, appropriate limits and clear responses matter for refrigerated goods. Our cold room monitoring page explains probe placement, door contacts and support for temperature records.

Monitor temperatures in heating systems

Flow and return temperatures show selected heating operating conditions. Alert rules need to consider night setback and heating demand. Our heating monitoring page explains options with and without a fault contact.

Server rooms, storage and plant rooms

Air conditioning failure can cause rising temperatures in server rooms. Acceptable storage conditions depend on the materials. Plan sensor locations around airflow, heat sources and the information needed. A sensor directly in front of a cooling outlet does not automatically describe the whole room.

Temperature alerts by SMS and email

The platform compares received readings with your rules and notifies configured groups. Measurement interval, radio conditions and notification channel affect when information arrives. Test the complete process during commissioning and agree who responds.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about temperature monitoring

Which limits are right?

That depends on the stored goods and the equipment. You set the limits yourself in the platform and can adjust them at any time.

Can I monitor a heating system without a fault contact?

For many systems, yes, using temperature probes on the flow and return. SECURUS reports unusual patterns according to your alert rules; the heating contractor diagnoses the fault.

Can I document the temperatures?

Yes. SECURUS stores all readings and exports them as CSV. Whether that is enough for a particular record also depends on the measuring method and requirements.
