Lighting monitoring for indoor and outdoor areas
Lights left on in an empty office or insufficient light outdoors: lighting monitoring shows conditions at selected points. SECURUS displays histories and reports deviations according to your rules, helping you investigate schedules and unusual areas.
Example data for illustration. You set the thresholds yourself in the platform.
From the reading to the right person.
Measure
Sensors record readings or events directly on site.

Via LoRaWAN to a gateway within range, then through its internet connection to the platform.
Check
The platform checks every value against your thresholds, rules and time windows.

The responsible person receives an SMS or email with location, time and trigger.
What a light sensor shows
The light sensor measures brightness where it is mounted, not the state of each individual light. Daylight and other light sources are included, so the sensor belongs where the information is needed. Some models only report light or dark, others the exact lux value.
Look at lighting and energy together
A lit corridor at 10 pm is a reason to check switching times or motion detectors. Energy monitoring shows how much electricity that costs. Combined with occupancy measurement, it shows whether lights are on in unused rooms. SECURUS measures and reports; lighting control is not part of it.
Choose the monitoring point for the task
An outdoor area needs a weatherproof monitoring point with a suitable measurement range. In an office, a sensor beside a window cannot represent every desk. Compare daytime and night-time readings at the same location to distinguish daylight changes from unusual lighting hours.
Frequently asked questions about lighting monitoring
Does the solution detect every faulty light?
No. A failure is only noticed if it noticeably changes the brightness at the measuring point.
Does SECURUS switch the lights off?
No. The solution measures and informs; control would have to be planned separately.
Does this replace a required lighting inspection?
No. Requirements for workplaces and emergency lighting remain in place.
Do I measure lux or just light and dark?
It depends on the sensor. Some provide lux readings; others report a light or dark state.
